Artist Charlotte White is a familiar as she paints on our gardens, roadsides or jazz houses. Delighting in capturing the play of light and shadow across shapes, her award winning art doesn’t fall into mundane patterns or rigid categories. She works in a variety of media.
Texas born, Charlotte graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1971 with bachelor’s degrees in Art and Education. Moving to Bakersfield in 1991, she completed a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the California State University of Bakersfield in 1997.
She has been an art teacher for over 22 years and has
taught in a variety of places, such as Pine Ridge Indian
Reservation, S.D.; Caracas, Venezuela; Kansas City;
Phoenix and now Bakersfield, California.
As a graphic and commercial art specialist, she has represented clients both independently and for in-house agencies for over 15 years.
Represented by the Gallery of Art in Bakersfield, Charlotte continues to accept commissions. Her works are included in private collections in France, Venezuela and the United States. Her collectors in Bakersfield include Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hall and the Centennial Medical Group.
